If you hadn't noticed, its snowing outside! Tonight's theatre trip has been cancelled because of the weather, so instead here's a little treat for you all.
Whenever I go to see The Nutcracker, I always rate the entire production by the choreography of one particular scene - The Waltz of the Snowflakes, which is right at the end of Act One. This is a wonderful piece of music in its own right; certainly one of my Desert Island Disc, evocative of sudden flurries of snow curling in the wind. The Birmingham Royal Ballet's production of Nutcracker is probably the BEST I've ever seen (even though I've only ever caught it on DVD) and Snow is a real highlight of this wonderful production. I know I bang on and on about this production to some of you, so here's the final segment. Enjoy!
